Why So Many Headaches Right Now (It’s Not Just Stress)Why So Many Headaches Right Now (It’s Not Just Stress)

I’ve been hearing this over and over lately:

“I’ve had a headache for days.”

With the recent snow, cold temperatures, and pressure changes, this actually makes a lot of sense — even for people who don’t usually struggle with headaches.

Here’s what’s happening physiologically:

When barometric pressure drops (like before, during, or after snowstorms), fluids in the body slightly expand.

That includes fluid in the sinuses, head, neck, and surrounding tissues.

If those areas are already tight, inflamed, congested, or stressed, that extra pressure has nowhere to go — and the result can be:

• headaches or head pressure

• sinus congestion or pain behind the eyes

• jaw, neck, and shoulder tightness

• foggy or heavy-headed feelings

• increased sensitivity to light or sound

Cold weather also causes muscles to tighten and circulation to slow, while stress and disrupted routines keep the nervous system on high alert — all of which compounds the issue.

Massage and targeted bodywork can help by:

✓ releasing neck, jaw, and upper back tension

✓ improving circulation and lymphatic drainage

✓ supporting sinus flow and pressure release

✓ calming the nervous system✓ helping the body adapt to pressure changes more easily

Now that I’m fully reopened after the snow closures, I’ve added limited availability this week to support anyone dealing with lingering headaches, sinus pressure, or tension from the cold and weather shifts.

If you’re unsure which service would best support headache or sinus relief, just reply to this email and I’ll help guide you.

Headaches are often the body’s way of saying it needs support — not something you have to push through.

With care,

P.S. Many clients notice headache relief within 24–48 hours once tension and drainage pathways are supported.
